Pancreatic cancer surgeries

Pancreas is an important organ in the body situated deep in the central abdomen. Caner of the pancreas is a deadly disease and needs treatment at the earliest for best results.

1. Whipple’s pancreatico-duodenectomy : this surgery is done if the cancer is in the head of the pancreas. This is a major surgery which takes around 5-6 hours. For best results , this surgery has to be performed with precision and patience.
2. Distal pancreatectomy : This surgery is performed in cases of tumuour located near the tail of the pancreas.
